Living the Quilty Life
We are very excited to start our 2022/2023 Guild year with Alex Anderson. Alex will join us from Northern California to present ‘Living the Quilty Life’. Alex is renowned for educating, inspiring and connecting quilters throughout the world. She will share stories from her childhood, life challenges she has faced, serendipitous events that shaped her career and the people who have influenced her ever-evolving approach to quilting! Her stories offer words of guidance and encouragement. Join us for an hour of lighthearted fun and inspiration.
Alex is an author of various quilting books, fabric lines and developed an award winning magazine. She is also known for hosting HGTV’s Simply Quilts for 13 seasons.

The WCQG maintains an extensive library of books (600+) on quilt related subjects. Borrowers must be current members and at this time may borrow two(2) books using a valid library card. The cards will be available at the membership table where you check in at the Gatherings.
On October 5, borrowing will continue in two ways:
In-house at the monthly Gatherings, the library will be open between 10:30am - 3:30pm.
Online orders with curbside pickup will continue
Deadline for online orders, by email to Librarians, is Saturday, October 1st.
Curbside pick up will be 12 noon to 2 pm outside in the AMA parking lot.

Scrappy Blocks Workshop
This 6-hour Zoom workshop is a technique and skill building workshop where participants will make individual quilt blocks with a focus on using scraps and strips. The class is suitable for all skill levels, beginner to advanced. Barbara will share a variety of strategies, tips and techniques to build or consolidate your skills. Rather than making one quilt, participants will learn how to make 4 unique quilt blocks using their scraps. Following the workshop, participants will have the skills needed to confidently make all 4 quilts, so they can then choose which blocks they might wish to complete to make a finished quilt.

This 6-hour Zoom workshop is a technique focused class suitable for all skill levels, beginner to advanced. Barbara will share a variety of strategies, tips and techniques to build or consolidate your skills. Participants will learn how
to make the Log Cabin and Houses quilt shown in the photo, all using 2½-inch strips from stash or jelly rolls.

Open Sewing Days
Our Open Sewing Times for members only, are continuing each* Monday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. We continue to share social time, great conversations and laughter – all things that are so good for the soul right now. Come when you can, leave when you wish. We are enjoying a great time together. There will also be monthly Saturday Open Sewing Day every month.

Sewing Together, But Apart
Our Sewing Together, But Apart Days provide an entire day of sewing activities, including sharing tips and strategies, socializing as well as having guest speakers join us for part of the day. To help cover some of the cost of the guest speakers, a charge of $10.00 is included for the afternoon guest speaker. With the possibilities Zoom provides, we are able to access guest speakers from near and far. We look forward to having you join us. Participants are invited to come for all or part of the day. This is event is open to members of the WCQG only. There is no limit to the number of participants.
