For our May meeting Lorraine Roy will be joining us.  Lorraine is a full time professional artist working in the textile medium since the mid 1980s.  She holds a BSc in Agriculture, Majoring in Ornamental Horticulture and has been studying developments in tree research since 1978.  It is her knowledge and ongoing studies of trees that is her primary source of inspiration for her work.  Her latest work, Woven Woods is a collection of twelve round fabric wall hangings depicting the wonders of tree root communications and will be on exhibit at Homer Watson House from May 1 to June 13, 2021.  She also recently published a book on this collection – Woven Woods – A Journey through the Forest Floor.
