During the 2011 KW Quilt Show, visitors had the opportunity to vote for three of their favourite quilts for the Viewers' Choice Awards. The votes were tallied and applied to three catagories:
General Catagory
First Time Entry - anyone who has never entered the WCQG show previously
Master Catagory - anyone who has had quilts accepted in a provincial, national and/or international show
The quilt with the most votes recieves the Best of Show, which is also the Viewers' Choice in that catagory. This year the Best of Show goes to Jeanette Rettinger for My Baltimore Album (General Category). Her quilt is shown to the right. She received the CQA/ACC Rosette.
The blocks in this quilt are from two books: Baltimore Beauties and Beyond by Elly Sienkiewicz and Little Brown Bird by Margaret Docherty.
Jeanette started this quilt in a workshop with Renske Helmuth; as it grew her love of hand appliqué flourished thanks to the support of several appliqué loving friends.
